cemetery extension, crematorium and the gardener house

The task was to extend the existing cemetery and design a new house for crematorium and a gardener.
We decided to put gardener in a separate house - a one reminding a typical building from the agricultural
surrounding and to use it as a buffer between the crematorium and the existing single family houses.
The project of the crematorium building is based on a belief that independently from cultural background experiencing nature can help
to find comfort after death of someone close.
This universalism is important as the building will be used by people of different religions.
In the design of the crematorium we introduced a series of inner enclosed gardens to provide
intimate and neutral space for the people that experience the loss.
